Toe Rings & their growing fashion among men and women

Wednesday, July 2, 2014

Besides other body parts, a ring can be worn even on toes of the foot which is called a Toe Ring. It can be prepared from different metals or non-metals and can be worn on toe of your personal choice. Usually, it is exclusively worn by females but nowadays it is becoming popular with males. The most preferred site of toe ring by the Indian women is generally the second toe. It can be worn on either foot, this again being the personal choice. These are a new fashion accessory in western countries.

This culture of wearing toe rings is popular in country like India where it is basically a trend being followed by the married Hindu women of India. This type of toe ring is also known as Bichiya. The metal used is usually silver and is generally worn in pairs on both feet. In contrast to this toe rings used in western countries are worn singly or worn in unmatched pairs. Traditionally, a toe ring of large size was worn by the married women on the Big toe of left foot. Some men used to wear frequently toe ring on the great toe for the curative purpose as well as to augment the vigor. These rings had open loops so that their removal from the toe becomes easy.

Nowadays, toe rings have become very comfortable to wear. The stretchable plastic material used make the rings easy to wear in any toe size. To ascertain the size of the toe the best way is to use dental floss piece or a string piece. You have to wrap the string piece around mid part of the toe where you would like the toe ring to be placed. After having known the size of toe ring, you can choose the quality of toe ring and wear it on toe of your choice.
